1- Business Licenses

All of the Emirates regulate both foreign and domestic business activity by requiring that any office for the conduct of business located in an Emirate must be properly licensed by the municipal authorities where located. The following kinds of business activities involve different kinds of licenses which allow the licensed business to conduct business as provided below:

E-Dirham Card

The e-Dirham is a Payment Tool devised by the Ministry of Finance & Industry in order to facilitate collection of Revenues, providing the Government with a Secure Payment Method, and providing the public with a convenient payment tool.

The e-Dirham was initially intended for the Revenue Collection of the Federal Government, but gradually the e-Dirham has become the Payment Method, which many Local Governments in the UAE are using including semi-governmental organization and even some of the Private Sector.

The e-Dirham was launched on the 3rd of February 2001. Marking the UAE to be the first to introduce such a system countrywide within the Arab Region.

The e-Dirham has become widely available, and has many payment channels. The UAE has become the center for the IT innovations, and the e-Dirham is one of the good examples.

2- Representative Office License

Activity of a representative office is limited to business or sales promotion activities and may be used as regional headquarters or a liaison facility. It may not import goods, effectuate sales or make contractual commitments.

3- Trade License

Trade licenses allow the holder to import, sell, export and conduct general business with regard to certain identified goods or product lines. General trade licenses, which allow the import and export of all types of products and unrestricted engagement in a general trading business are rarely issued.

4- Industry License

An industry license is required for the establishment and conduct of industrial activity with regard to the specific kind of manufacturing, processing or other industrial activity to be undertaken.

eSinaee is simply means Industrial Electronic Services which provide certain services on http://egov.uae.gov.ae according to the federal low number "1" for 1979 in organizing the industrial affairs, such as the following online services:-

• Establishing new industrial project.
• Registering in the MOFI Industrial Record.
• Applying for Industrial Production License.
• Registration of amendments to the existing factories.

Registration Note

Please note the following registration instructions :

• Use Internet Explorer browser 5.0 or any browser that supports Arabic language.
• Details should be entered in Arabic Language.
• Ministry of Finance and Industry will not receive any online request form before completing the payment form for the fees required.
• The requested service that has incomplete attachments will not be receive by the ministry.

5- Service License

This license authorizes various specified forms of service activity to be conducted.

6- Professional License

Architects, engineers, business consultants, doctors, legal and accounting firms and other professionals and consultants are required to obtain professional licenses.

7- Construction License

There are several kinds of construction licenses relating to different fields of construction activity. A general construction license, which authorizes the licensee to carry out all types of construction, including civil, mechanical, electrical, petroleum and other related activity, is also available.
